MANILA, Philippines – Regular payslips and employer-issued documents are not always part of working life for freelancers, gig workers, and micro-entrepreneurs. For these Filipinos, conventional lending requirements can make accessing credit more difficult, prompting the need for application processes that better accommodate diverse income sources.
PeraSure, a digital lending app operated by SEC-registered Sulit Lending Corporation, has officially launched in the Philippines with a simplified application process for eligible borrowers.
The need is significant. Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority indicate that around 9.9 million Filipinos are engaged in gig or informal work, accounting for roughly 22% of the country’s 44 million employed workers. Many earn through projects, platform-based services, or small businesses rather than through conventional salaried employment.
To reduce paperwork, PeraSure allows eligible applicants to apply using a government-issued ID and basic employment or income information. Borrowers can also review the full breakdown of rates, applicable fees, and total repayment amounts before confirming a loan.
“Many hardworking Filipinos earn a living outside a regular payroll, yet lending has long been built around payslips,” PeraSure noted. “We want borrowers to see exactly what they will pay, within the SEC’s limits, before they confirm a loan.”
The platform’s launch comes as updated regulatory limits govern qualifying small loans in the Philippines. Under SEC Memorandum Circular No. 14, Series of 2025, which took effect on April 1, 2026, the combined interest and fees on qualifying small loans are capped at 12% per month, down from 15% per month.
PeraSure’s daily interest rate is as low as 0.10%, below the updated ceiling. Eligible borrowers may access up to ₱50,000, with repayment terms of 30 to 180 days depending on individual credit evaluations.
The platform also provides a revolving credit arrangement for eligible borrowers. Rather than reapplying and requalifying for each transaction, users can draw on an approved credit line over time, with the possibility of a higher credit limit as their repayment record builds.
By combining a streamlined application process with upfront loan-cost information and continuing credit access for eligible users, PeraSure aims to offer another borrowing option for salaried employees, gig workers, and micro-entrepreneurs managing everyday financial needs.
The PeraSure app is now available on Google Play.
